Frome Jazz Club: Between the Notes, with John Martin

We try to ring the changes at FJC, and on Oct 5 we are excited to present a jazz star new to the area, the young sax player John Martin (acclaimed by Kenny Wheeler, Iain Ballamy, and more), with a programme of music quite unlike the club’s usual high octane fireworks. John has developed a unique playing sound that includes multiphonics and overtone colourings, and for this event John and the Keith Harrison-Broninski Trio (including Yuri Goloubev and Andy Tween) are taking a quieter more intimate approach with an unusual programme of material that offers us the chance to explore between the notes. Having said that, we are unlikely to resist providing a few pyrotechnics here and there! Entry free, doors 8pm, and early arrival advised.
