Dark, sensual, transporting, and supremely melodic – tango is the music of the soul. And its greatest exponent was the bandoneon player and composer Astor Piazzolla, who reinvented tango for the 20th century by fusing it with modern classical music and jazz.
On Thu Jan 7, Frome Jazz Club celebrates Piazzolla’s extraordinary music with one of today’s greatest accordionists, Karen Street, appearing with the Keith Harrison-Broninski trio. Karen is well known for her performances of tangos, as well as waltzes and other passionate music of the night, and we may venture beyond Piazzolla to play a few other irresistible melodies.
As always, entry is free and early arrival advised.
We are in the process of redeveloping the Discover Frome website, and invite you to share your views on the current site with us.
