The Great War Remembered is the theme for this year’s Flower Festival in the magnificent 15th century church, in tribute to those who lived and died during the First World War.
A highlight of the festival is a concert in the church at 7.30pm on Saturday 23rd. Flautist Nicola Loten and accompanist Thomas Breeze will be joined this year by guest soloist Hugh Strathern. Hugh’s career as a professional soloist has included appearances with the award-winning choir Only Men Aloud.
In the nearby Memorial Hall an extensive historical display will focus on the impact of World War I on the village, with a rare opportunity to view Parish records. Home-made refreshments will be available.
In this centenary year money raised will be to support the church and the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
