This course is intended for anyone who encounters the challenges of daily life, and wishes to develop ways of living life more fully, as well as for people with health issues or a history of depression. The course is a hybrid of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and is an experiential and educational programme, rather than a form of therapy or relaxation. During the 8-week course we will learn simple mindfulness meditations and exercises to integrate mindfulness into everyday life, and discuss our experiences. At home we practice the meditations each day, with the help of CD’s and a workbook provided with the course. We also experiment with mindful daily activities. A certain amount of reading is recommended (contained in the workbook), but not essential.
