“The Dance Continued”: Songs by Finzi and Faure

Tenor, Richard Pinnock, and pianist, Ann Burgess, return to the Frome Festival with a lunchtime concert of songs by two composers with the initials GF. They will perform music by the English composer, Gerald Finzi (1901-1956), who set to music ten of Thomas Hardy’s poems in his song cycle, “A Young Man’s Exhortation”, and by the French composer, Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) who wrote “Trois Mélodies”, opus 23, beautiful songs about boats rocking on the sea, our love and an emotional secret. Wine and soft drinks will be available from 12.30.
