Tom Jobim merged jazz with Brazilian bossa nova in the 1960s to create a musical sensation, winning the first Grammy award for a jazz album, and taking the world by storm with songs including “The Girl from Ipanema” and many other standards that have become staples of the jazz and pop repertoire. Frome Jazz Club celebrates his gorgeous music with singer and violinist Azhaar Saffar, famous for her Latin dancefloor fave bands from Sirius B to Global Wave, and Felix Gibbons, a master of Brazilian percussion. The event will start with a free Brazilian percussion workshop at 6:30pm followed by music at 7:30pm.
