Calling all walking-enthusiasts and one-of-a-kind experience-seekers!
The charity for the Royal United Hospitals Bath (RUH), The Forever Friends Appeal, is looking for local people to join their 2020 trekking team – who are hiking through the spiritual home of the Dalai Lama in India next autumn – 23rd September to 4th October 2020.
Beginning in Dharamsala (the heart of the Tibetan community), you’ll trek through the beautiful Indian Himalayas, rhododendron forests and high up in alpine meadows surrounded by snow-capped peaks, passing through traditional Hindu settlements, temples and Buddhist Monasteries.
You’ll also have the chance to visit the Taj Mahal… and all in the knowledge that every step you take will support patients and their families back home. Plus, new for this year, the group will spend a day volunteering at a school along the route, an amazing opportunity to give back to the community.
The charity is hosting an Information Evening on Tuesday 21st January. This will feature an evening of presentations about fundraising and the trek itself, including a Q&A session with a Global Adventure Challenges trek leader, as well as a chance to hear about previous trekkers’ experiences
