South West Trains are coming to Frome to discuss proposals to offer a new service for Frome with trains running to London Waterloo. As well as more than doubling our train service to London, it will mean that there will be direct links from Frome to Westbury, Warminster, Salisbury, Basingstoke, Woking and Clapham Junction. Chris Loder, Head of Business Projects at South West Trains is coming to the Cheese and Grain in Frome on Tuesday 14th April at 5.30-6.30pm to give a short presentation, to discuss the proposed services and to answer questions – do pop in if you can.
Anna Francis, Frome’s Energy and Recycling Officer said ‘Frome desperately needs better public transport links and we fully support South West Trains’ proposal. We are also working with First Great Western to promote and support increased services. So many Frome residents commute by car to and from Frome every day, if there were more regular, reliable and affordable train links this could significantly reduce congestion, costs and carbon.’ See you there!
