Come along to these free Summer activities to learn more about local wildlife and find out how you can support biodiversity in fun and interesting ways.
All children will need to be accompanied by an adult. These are outdoor activities so make sure you dress sensibly for the weather, and check your emails in the event of storms or high winds in case we need to cancel.
Book your free tickets. Please book 1 ticket per person attending, e.g. 3 tickets for 2 children accompanied by 1 adult.
Join this fun and interactive session delivered by Jo Morris, Frome Town Council’s Resilience Officer for the last chance to take part in this year’s Big Butterfly Count and learn how to support our own Frome Community Wildlife Mapping project.
The session will cover:
Feel free to bring a picnic to enjoy after.
Join our Resilience Officer Jo Morris for a pollinator themed picnic. Some fun research is required before this one as we would like you to include some food that wouldn’t exist without pollinating insects! Jo will chat to you about the importance of pollinating insects and there will be a chance to engage in some fun wildlife themed activities.
Join our Resilience Officer Jo Morris to investigate the wildlife at the new pond in Welshmill. Try out some pond-dipping methods, learn about amphibians and explore the variety of insects and their larva in and around the pond. There’ll also be a chance to find out about the Community Wildlife Mapping project and how you can get involved.
