Swing Time Frome
Swing Time Frome is a weekly swing dance class in Frome, every Wednesday, 7pm-8.30pm. No need to book, as it’s a drop in class.
Swing Dance is a generic name for a range of partner dance styles, usually danced to Jazz, Swing, Blues and ‘Retro Pop’ music, incorporating Lindy Hop, 30’s Charleston and Balboa, plus ‘Jazz Steps’.
In these classes the main focus will be on Lindy Hop, but other elements such as jazz steps and social dancing will be included, to help improve confidence and flair.
Classes are suitable for both dance beginners and those with some dance experience. Improvers classes will be introduced in the near future, so that dancers can progress.
All welcome (18+ only) and no partner required (partners will rotate during the class).

Tamsin has been swing dancing for 15 years, and has travelled around the UK learning different dancing styles and techniques. She dances and teaches Lindy Hop, and also enjoys other related forms of swing dance such as Balboa and Shag. She has a particular love of Solo Jazz, and has danced and performed with jazz troupes around the South West and beyond. She will be teaching solo jazz routines with Swing Time Frome in the near future. She is the founder of Swing Time Frome, which she set up in 2018. There was a break around lockdown time, but it’s now full steam ahead!
Gordon West has recently arrived in Bath/Bradford-on-Avon from the Isle of Man, where he introduced hundreds to swing so that it is now one of the most vibrant and successful arts groups on the Island. He has taught extensively in the last 6 years, as well as organised swing events, and is currently seeking to bring Lindy Hop, as well as Balboa, to Frome and the surrounding areas.
