Kairos Theatre Company presents The Haunting of Richard III.
First performed on the ECOS Amphitheatre at the Frome Festival 2022, Kairos Theatre Company revives the “The Haunting of Richard the Third” indoors at the Merlin Theatre for one night only, prior to an exciting tour of this new musical written by Martin Dimery and David Hynds.
On the evening before the Battle of Bosworth Field, Richard III is visited by the ghosts of his past who lead him on a retrospective journey through his life. Richard is neither the Shakespearean villain of legend, nor the hero of romantic fiction, but a man caught up in the events of the time and who experiences triumph and tragedy.
The show has been re-worked and refined before touring to the Oundle Fringe Festival to appear at Fotheringhay Church (Richard’s birthplace); two nights at the Old Theatre Royal (Masonic Lodge), Bath, and concludes at the Market Bosworth Festival, close to the scene of his final battle.
