William Cheung FRPS has been a keen photographer for over three decades and has been a member of the specialist photographic press for 30 years.
He achieved his Associateship of the Royal Photographic Society in 1982 and got his Fellowship the following year in the Pictorial category with a portfolio of black & white prints.
Favourite subjects include pictorial, landscape and travel but he also enjoys tackling macro, portraits and studio work. He calls himself a ‘specialist at being a non specialist.’
He joined the editorial staff of Practical Photography magazine in 1985 where he worked for 19 years, over ten years of which he was the title’s editor.
In 2003, he joined Archant Specialist as editorial director of its imaging titles, which included Professional Photographer, Which Digital Camera and Photography Monthly.
He is currently editor of Photography News, a free newspaper distributed to camera clubs and through leading photography retailers. He also judges and lectures on the international circuits and is a member of the RPS’s Travel Associate and Fellowship distinction panel.
This evening promises to be a treat for both photography experts and keen amateurs.
