Community Celebration – 50 years of FTC

Frome Town Council is hosting a Free Community Celebration event in Victoria Park on Saturday 10th August from 12pm to 4pm, to mark its golden anniversary and 50 years of serving the community.

Many local charities and organisations are running family-friendly activities and sharing information on the day, including Frome Rotary, Frome Carnival Club, We Hear You, YMCA, Keyford Hedgehog Rescue, Frome FM, Frome, and the Frome Shed, among others.

FTC will be offering a range of free activities in a dedicated children’s arena, to include a ‘Sing-a-ling’ music session, a magic show from The Magical Storybox, gold-themed crafts, storytelling and garden games.

There is live music on the bandstand throughout the day from Frome Town Band at midday, Paul Kirtley of the Fair Frome Tribe at 12.30pm , soloist Millie Steel and Butane Skies from Frome College from 1.15pm to 2.45, and a chance to dance with the South West Ceilidh Band from 3pm.

Among the food and refreshments on offer are a barbecue by Frome Community Café, wood-fired pizza, ice cream and a pop-up bar by the team from the Cheese and Grain. The community café is open for hot and cold drinks and snacks throughout the day.

The Community Celebration takes place on Saturday 10th August from 12pm to 4pm, in Victoria Park, Frome. Entry is free. Any event proceeds raised by Frome Town Council will be donated to Fair Frome.
