Writing Futures

We’re often advised to write what we know. But what if we want to write about what we don’t know? Using exercises, discussion and selected texts, we’ll look at utopias, dystopias and places between. We’ll consider how to enter and inhabit a future world by asking ‘what if?’ We’ll begin to build up detail and atmosphere to map out a novel, short story or a long poem.
