Soup and Sparklers: a celebration of World Kindness Day
“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
On Wednesday 13th November, Frome will be celebrating World Kindness Day with a special evening at the Silk Mill, organized by local non-profit The Good Heart. The evening is open to everyone with an interest in how being kind can bring more health and happiness to ourselves, each other and the planet. Plans will also be shared for the 4th Frome Kindness Festival, which is taking place from 15th – 22nd March 2025.
The evening will include an autumnal supper of soup, mulled cider and baked apples; live music from local musician Vicki Burke; updates on how to get involved with the 2025 Kindness Festival as a volunteer or participant; and (weather permitting) sparklers, candles and a fire pit. It will take place from 7pm – 9pm and the organisers are asking for a donation of £2 – £10 towards costs. For more information and to book a place, go to www.thegoodheart.uk
Over the winter, The Good Heart is also launching a new community table in the main café space for anyone in need of some company and conversation, and is looking for a team of volunteers who would enjoy helping to host this. The community table will be open during café opening hours and a free lunch will be provided for all volunteers. More information will be available at the Soup and Sparklers event, or you can contact welcome@thegoodheart.uk
“With everything that’s going on in the world, we need kindness more than ever,” said Jess Francombe, one of the organisers. “Please join us!”
