Shows, plays, pantos – oh my!
We know well enough by now that Frome is bursting at the seams when it comes to creativity, imagination and talent. If you love a show, play, panto or anything in between at this time of year, we’ve got you covered, thanks to a whole host of entertainment groups, theatres, artists and creatives.
A Christmas Carol: The Musical
The ever-popular annual Christmas show at the Merlin Theatre is back with A Christmas Carol. The show runs until Saturday 14th December and there are limited tickets left at the time of writing, so be quick to secure those last minute seats. If it’s too late, take a look at other productions and screenings at the Merlin.
The Little Match Girl and Happier Tales
Wise Children have brought back their sell-out production of The Little Match Girl and Happier Tales for a second year, showing at their home in the Lucky Chance. Shows run all the way through until 21st December, and it’s another popular one. If you’d like to see another fabulous production of theirs, why not head to watch…
The Ugly Duckling
Wise Children’s enchanting puppet show for younger ones. Enjoy 45 minutes of storytelling, live music and wonderful puppetry, bringing this classic tale by Hans Christian Andersen to life. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Shows run all the way until 19th December.
Frome Town Band Spectacular
In what is becoming a lovely tradition at Christmas, Frome Town Band brings a multigenerational Christmas Concert to the Merlin Theatre. If previous years are anything to go by you won’t find a more Christmassy Christmas event in town! Enjoy Frome’s very own community brass band, showcasing the players of the future and come prepared to add your own voice in a singalong selection of carols and traditional tunes.
Sleeping Beauty
Another popular one! This classic pantomime, presented by Frome Musical Theatre Company. It’s sure to be a treat for the whole family – a timeless fairy tale for all ages to enjoy, combined with all of the best-loved panto shenanigans live on stage. It’s behind you! Shows run from 28th December until 4th January 2025.
