Get ready, get set, skate!
Cast your minds back to September – the sun was shining, families gathered, the skatepark in the Mary Baily was a hive of activity. If you’re sad you missed out, or had so much fun you’d love to do it again, you’re in luck. Frome Skatepark Project, in collaboration with Frome Town Council, are hosting another Skate Jam on Saturday 10th May. Head to the skatepark in the Mary Baily playing field, next to Victoria Park, from 10am – 4pm for free skate lessons, the Skate Jam itself, activities and more.
This vibrant community event is also an opportunity for people to share thoughts and ideas for the future of the skatepark and a potential new location within the Mary Baily field.
The event promises a day of excitement and fun for the entire family, with best trick competitions and music creating an energetic atmosphere. All wheeled sports enthusiasts, including skateboarders, roller skaters, scooter riders, and BMX bikers, are welcome to join in the activities. The Skate Jam is open to all ages and abilities, encouraging everyone to take part, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a complete beginner.
The event begins at 10am, where young people aged 8 – 18 will be able to book free skate lessons – book a free lesson here. Spaces are limited for walk-ups so be sure to secure a spot if you’re keen! Lessons end at 12pm and there will be a short break before the Skate Jam from 1pm – 4pm.
So, grab your skateboard, roller skates, scooter or BMX and head to Victoria Park on 10th May for a day of fun, competition, and community spirit!
