Join us for a concert of piano duets for Carnival Night. Pianists Stephen Marquiss and Liz Kozlowski bring Dvorak’s Legends, a cycle of ten pieces for four-hands, to life. Equally epic and enchanting, the cycle is inspired by the poems of Erben and carries a narrative which continues through the piece. But what tales do each of the stories in the cycle tell?
Our carnival concert programme continues with Saint-Saens’ Danse Macabre –Death plays the fiddle on All Hallow’s Eve as the dead revel and dance til the break of dawn. The colourful pageantry of Saint-Saens’ Carnival of the Animals brings our Carnival Night to a fitting close. With special thanks to international felt artist Gladys Paulus for the loan of her amazing masks for the performance.
Refreshments available from 7pm and during the interval.
