Edventure Incubation: Alternative D.I.Y shop

One day a week on Fridays.

7th February to 27th June 2025 excluding 21st February, 11th and 18th April, 30th May.

You and your team will work to design, launch and create an alternative D.I.Y shop pop-up, aimed at transforming waste, promoting repairs, and building community connections. The pop-up store will sell new and pre-loved building materials, home accessories, and decoration supplies, at a fraction of the retail price. Materials will be sourced from local D.I.Y stores, tradespeople’s leftovers, and anyone who wants to dispose of those ‘too good to waste’ materials lurking in their garage. The pop-up will also host workshops on upcycling, repair, and basic D.I.Y skills.

We will teach you everything you need to know about creating and launching a social enterprise with a positive local impact, with a true learning-by-doing approach.

During the course, you’ll work on key aspects of the alternative D.I.Y. shop pop-up, such as identifying a location, developing a sustainable business model, salvaging materials from waste, estimating costs, marketing, and engaging the community.

No experience is needed – just a willingness to learn about social enterprise, get stuck in, and try something new.
