Weylands
A green corridor leading into Frome
From the centre of Frome, the path along the river heads downstream, past the Welshmill Woods, pump track and play area. At the end of this path, a shared cycle and walking route continues on the other side of the river to an open stretch of ground known as Weylands. In addition to the large grassy area, there is a small orchard, and some fruit and nut trees planted for the public to enjoy.
Managed by Frome Town Council, the annual Wassail is often held here, and it is an important green corridor into the centre of town. Heading further away from the town, the path leads to Whatcombe Fields.
As evening falls, the bat-friendly, solar powered lights bring visibility to the path.
