Christmas Fairs & Markets Guide 2022
As the festive season draws closer, makers and producers are busy getting ready to showcase the very best of local arts, crafts and produce at Christmas fairs and markets. There are plenty to choose from over the coming weeks and doing your Christmas shopping in this way will not only result in some unique gifts but also support small businesses and the local economy.
Here’s our guide to what’s on offer in Frome and the surrounding area starting this weekend.
Black Swan Arts Christmas Makers’ Market – 18th November, 5pm-8pm
A festive Christmas Makers’ Market including mulled wine and other treats from The River House. The Black Swan’s studio shops will be open as well as both exhibition galleries and their gift shop.
Makers’ Market Christmas Special – 19th November 9am-2pm
A festive market for crafters to show off their skills and sell their wonderful creations.
Christmas Pop-Up @ Home – 25th November
After the Frome Christmas Lights Switch-On and lantern parade, head on in to Home to enjoy some festive cheer, food and drink and Christmas shopping.
Christmas Charity Fair – 26th November, 9am-2pm
A range of Frome charities will be selling toys, gifts and cakes plus raffles and tombolas raising much-needed funds.
Eco Festive Crafts – 26th November, 10am-12.30pm
Join Frome Families for the Future for a morning of festive crafts where you’ll have the opportunity to make and buy crafts, gift wrap and decorations – all with a twist of eco-ness!
There will also be festive drinks and sweet treats to enjoy as well as a toy swap.
Nunney Makes Christmas – 26th November, 10am-3pm
Nunney Makes Christmas will be showcasing small businesses that only sell handmade items and take commissions for bespoke items.
Enjoy a cup of mulled wine, some seasonal spirit, and a unique selection of Christmas gifts.
Frome Carnival Christmas Fayre – November 27th, 12pm-5pm
Frome Carnival are delighted to be holding their first ever Christmas Fayre, in the Clubhouse at Frome Town Football Club.
They will have over 20 different stalls, hot and cold drinks, plus mince pies and other snacks.
Frost Fair – 1st-24th December, 5pm-9pm
This outdoor continental-style market is part of an exciting Christmas celebration taking place in the heart of Frome, with live entertainment, state-of-the-art visual shows and more.
Visitors will not only be able to experience the daily spectacular Christmas light show, they will also be able to indulge in homemade treats and grab some Christmas goodies.
Christmas Gift Market – 3rd December, 9am-2pm
After the success of last year’s market the Cheese & Grain will be hosting a Christmas market full of gifts, cards, decorations and food.
Rowden House Christmas Fete – 3rd December, 12pm-4pm
Enjoy a residents’ arts & craft stall, bric-a-brac, raffle and tombola stall, stalls from local craftspeople, as well as Santa’s grotto with reindeer and sleigh installation.
There will also be plenty of tea and cake, non-alcoholic wine, cider and fruit punch stall and hot food van.
All proceeds from Rowden House stalls will go towards the residents’ amenities fund.
Makers’ Yard Christmas Art Market – 3rd December, 2pm-6pm
After the success of last year, the Makers’ Yard Christmas Art Market is back with covered designer-maker stalls lit by festoon lighting in their community yard and smaller tables in their event space for local artists and designers.
Mulled cider, music and Christmas spirit will also be flowing freely!
The Frome Independent – 4th December, 10am-3pm
The final edition of The Frome Independent for 2022 will have more stalls than usual throughout the town centre and extending down on the Justice Lane.
Find everything you need on your Christmas shopping list from the wide range of designer makers, flea market, Somerset Farmers’ Market and food producers, many of which will be taking orders for Christmas.
Discover Frome Christmas Maker’s Market – 6th-17th December
Head to the Round Tower at Black Swan Arts to find that unique Christmas gift from a selection of work from local artists and makers.
Festive Food & Drink Fair – 10th December, 9am-2pm
The Cheese & Grain host this new market dedicated to all things Christmas food and drink!
Get all your Christmas party foods in one place, from chutneys and jams, cheese and crackers, chocolates and cakes, wines, beers, Christmas hampers and Christmas foodie gifts.
A lovely market to get those final bits for Christmas.
Frome Vegan Christmas Fair – 11th December, 10am-4pm
If you have vegan guests coming for dinner on Christmas day, then this is what you need! Over 40 stalls will be selling all sorts of vegan products including food, gifts, clothing and cosmetics.
You can also enjoy talks and demonstrations as well as food and drink.
