Christmas is fast approaching, so with a month to go until the big day we have put a list together of our most festive markets and fairs. Keep your Christmas shopping local this year, support small businesses and makers.
Christmas Fairs and Markets
Black Swan Christmas Market – running until Sunday 31st December, 10am-4pm 
With stylish homeware, handmade jewellery, personalised presents and ceramics, prints and other Christmas goodies, people will be able to tick everything off their shopping list in one easy convenient location. What’s not to love!
A Christmas Little Night Market – Friday 24th November, 4pm-9pm
Come along to the Market Yard outside the library from 4pm on Friday 24th November and grab a bite to eat before enjoying the magic of the Light the Night lantern parade and the Frome Christmas Light Switch On.
Christmas Charity Fair – Saturday 25th November, 9am-2pm
A great opportunity for local charities to raise their much-needed funds for Christmas. Charities will be selling toys, gifts and cakes on the day and some will run raffles and tombolas.
Nunney Makes Christmas – Saturday 25th November, 10am-3pm
Christmas market showcasing only handmade goods by local makers, good food and cheap entry. Head down to Nunney Village Hall for a festive day!
Frome Winter Vegan Fair – Sunday 26th November, 10am-3pm
Whether you already live a plant-based lifestyle or you’re simply interested in why plant-based living has become so popular, Frome Vegan Fair will be showcasing a number of traders ranging from festive themed food, non-alcoholic party drinks as well as eco-friendly gifts.
Selwood Academy Christmas Fair – Friday 1st December, 5pm-7pm
Selwood’s hugely popular Christmas fair returns with craft stalls, gifts, raffle, tombola, children’s games and even a visit from the big man himself!
Silk Mill Christmas Fair – Friday 1st December – Sunday 3rd December
Resident artists, jewellers, and potters will be selling their one-of-a-kind wares. Come for the shopping, stay for food and drinks, enjoy the music and general Christmas merriment.
Christmas Gift Market – Saturday 2nd December, 9am-2pm
This is a market for decorations, gifts, cards and food. Everything you need for Christmas all in one place and all by independent sellers.
Maker’s Yard Christmas Market – Saturday 2nd December, 2pm-6pm
There will be covered designer-maker stalls lit by festoon lighting in our community yard and smaller tables in our event space for local artists and designers. Mulled cider , music, and Christmas spirit will flow freely and it should be a whole lot of fun!
December Magpie Market – Sunday 3rd December, 9am-2pm
The last Magpie Market of the year at the Cheese and Grain! Head along for vintage and contemporary gifts, jewellery and homemade crafts and produce.
Frome Independent Market – Sunday 3rd December, 9am-3pm
There’s always a lovely festive feel to the December market, with choirs, mulled cider and wine, Christmas trees and wreaths. Shop for perfect gifts and special stocking fillers directly from small independent businesses. You’ll find an amazing selection of jewellery, ceramics, homewares and fragrance, apparel, skincare, accessories and original artwork.
Frome Farmer’s Market – Saturday 9th December, 9am-1pm
Come along to the Boyle Cross for the monthly Farmer’s Market. Meet and buy from local farmers, producers, cheesemakers, bakers… the list goes on! You could make up a hamper as Christmas gift for a loved one, full of delicious produce.
Leigh on Mendip Christmas Tree Sale and Fayre – Saturday 9th December, 10am-2pm
Come along to Leigh on Mendip School for a Christmas tree sale and fayre, raising funds for the school. Locally grown quality Nordmann super premium cut fir trees will be available, as well as Christmas stalls and refreshments in the school hall.
West Woodlands Countdown to Christmas – Saturday 9th December, 10am-4pm
The Frome and District Agricultural Society Ltd are bringing a brand-new event to the West Woodlands Showground, Frome; the event will be FREE ENTRY and feature Christmas shopping, kids crafts, local bands, food and drink, Christmas pet photography, donkeys and Santa’s Grotto.
Frome Record Fair – Sunday 10th December, 10am-3pm
Bringing expert sellers from all over the South for this free to attend market! A must for all music collectors. Its a great chance to grab loads of original, rare vinyl, also new and re-issues. Could make an excellent Christmas gift for record lovers.

Frome Weekly Market every Wednesday and Saturday, 9am-3pm, in the Cattle Market Car Park and at Boyle Cross. Offering fresh goods, cut flowers, crafts, jewellery, home furnishings, vintage finds and more.
Frome Flea & Antique Market every Wednesday, 9am-2pm, in the Cheese and Grain. Traders selling quality second-hand goods, antiques, collectibles, clothing and more.
