It’s that time of year again! Time to ramp up your Christmas gift shopping this year with a whole host of incredible festive fairs and markets. Gt stuck into beautiful handmade goods, local produce, antiques, artisan gifts and so much more. Take a look through the list below for some inspiration and make a small maker or business very happy this year. <3

Black Swan Arts’ Winter Market: 16th November – 31st December

Find the Long Gallery transformed into the perfect venue for all your Christmas needs.  The Winter Market will bring together the unique talents of more than thirty local artists and makers.  Choose from original paintings, prints, leather handbags and belts, cushions, lampshades, tea towels, handwoven textiles, screen printed linens and T-shirts, stained glass, sculpture, jewellery, handmade toiletries, ceramics, gift cards and knitted and woven scarves and mittens.

George Hotel & Granary’s Indoor Christmas Market: 23rd November

Begin your Christmas shopping and treat yourself and loved ones to some fantastic handmade local gifts and treats. With a variety of stalls offering something different, there is no better time to shop local! Held in the Granary with stalls across two floors, you will be immersed into a winter wonderland with glistening fairy lights twinkling overhead and Christmas music. The Granary bar will be open serving up Christmas tipples and mulled wine along with pretzels and bratwursts.

Frome Winter Vegan Fair: 24th November

Whether you already live a plant-based lifestyle or you’re simply interested in why plant-based living has become so popular, Frome Vegan Fair will be showcasing a number of traders ranging from festive themed food, non-alcoholic party drinks as well as eco-friendly gifts like cruelty free cosmetics, clothing and hand crafted items.

Christmas Market @ The Talbot Inn: 29th & 30th November

Head over to the beautiful Talbot Inn in Mells for their evening and lunchtime Christmas markets, full of lovely gifts, artisan makers and creators, mulled wine and live music.

Christmas Makers Market: 30th November

The Cheese & Grain’s Makers market is back for this one off Christmas special! A wonderful market for crafts, art, artisan, homemade items and more.

Frome Open Art Trail’s Artists Christmas Market: 30th November & 1st December

Frome Open Art Trail presents their Artists Christmas Market. Shop small, support local artists this year and enjoy free entry to the market at the Bennett Centre. Includes fine arts, textiles, ceramics, jewellery, cards and more.

Makers’ Yard Christmas Market: 30th November

Head to Makers’ Yard for an incredible line up of artists and makers from near and wide selling prints, ceramics, jewellery, stationery, textiles, skin care and gifts. There will also be mulled cider from Moo & Two, street food from Burrito Bambino and delicious mince pies and hot drinks by Pomona Supper Club. Come and buy from local, independent businesses this Christmas and enjoy some festive vibes with all of the best Christmas toons, projected animations AND an extra special festive performance from our choir, Utterance!

Magpie Markets run on the first Sunday of every month from March – December. This is a market for vintage and contemporary gifts, jewellery and homemade crafts and produce.

Selwood Academy Christmas Fair: 6th December

Selwood Academy’s Christmas Fair is always a popular event and raises vital funds for the school. Join for a tombola, raffle, craft stalls, Christmas gifts, festive food and drink and children’s stalls.

Christmas Gift Market: 7th December

The Cheese and Grain’s Christmas Gift Market returns! This is a market for decorations, gifts, cards and food. Everything you need for Christmas all in one place and all by independent sellers.

Made in Frome Festive Fair: 7th December

The Made In Frome Christmas Fair will be a day full of great food and exceptional gifts. Find the perfect present from some of Frome’s most talented and interesting makers. Pomona Supper Club will be providing a selection of tasty festive food and drinks, as well as selling her utterly incredible Christmas cakes, all from her beautiful vintage caravan. Frome’s very own all-female morris dancers, the Bounds Of Selwood, will be bringing their joyous energy, performed to a backdrop of traditional music. Made In Frome is the perfect way to find some festive cheer, as well as the perfect present.

Frome Record Fair: 8th December

Bringing expert sellers from all over the South for this free to attend market! A must for all music collectors. Its a great chance to grab loads of original, rare vinyl, also new and re-issues. Perfect as a Christmas gift for the music and vinyl lovers in your life.

Frome Farmers’ Market: 14th December

Frome Boyle Cross market runs every second Saturday of the month, from February – December. Situated close to Cheap Street and Catherine Hill, it’s a great destination to meet and buy from local farmers, cheesemakers, market gardeners, and bakers.

Don’t forget!

There are general markets every Wednesday and Saturday 9am – 3pm, with stalls in the Cattle Market Car Park by the Cheese and Grain and at the bottom of Cheap Street. You can find out more on the Frome Weekly Market Facebook page.
