Take a culinary and cultural trip to the beautiful and magical Lebanon through food, storytelling and entertainment!
“Share your cake” is Wafaa’s life motto. We eat to live, but how we eat makes all the difference to the quality of our lives. Have you ever wondered why food is part of every gathering? Sharing food is a social bonding exercise that grows friendships, increases happiness, and improves our well-being. Wafaa Powell was born in Tripoli, Lebanon and lived there until she was 35. Wafaa met her husband, Dave, on holiday in South Africa. They married in less than a month of meeting. She was a primary school teacher and achieved a Master degree in Sociology. Wafaa and her husband came to the UK in 2000 and have two children.
Although Wafaa trained as a counsellor with Relate, her life had other plans, so she started belly dancing and sharing her Lebanese recipes, which fills her and others with joy.
Wafaa loves connecting with people, eating, dancing, gardening, nature, walking and certainly talking.
