An event every week that begins at 1:30pm on Thursday, repeating until 25th Oct 2018
A fantastic and mixed group of people who enjoy learning to play traditional African rhythms on djembe. I will teach you technique, (we also play with Doun douns the 3 base drums) we do some fun rhythm activities, we create an ‘in the moment sound scape’ using drum circle methods and a bit ‘jamming’ with percussion and other instruments (and our voice if you choose). It’s really fun!
Drumming is a great way to bring people together through the connection, and energy that creating rhythms in a group brings. Drumming also has health benefits too and can strengthen neuro transmitters in your brain, has a relaxing effect on your body and boosts your immune system.
It’s a lovely group of adults with a great mix of gender, ability and background. There are people who come to drum to help with their health and people who come to learn to play and improve their rhythm. Supper friendly and welcoming and there is always a laugh or two!
Lead by Tanya Sherriff a very experienced facilitator/teacher…..
