Bristol’s Easton Cowgirls bring Palestinian Women’s Football to Frome.
Frome Town Ladies have invited the Easton Cowgirls to Frome Town Football Club to watch their match against the Downend Flyers LFC on Sunday 24th January. The match begins at 2pm and it will be followed by a screening of “Balls, Barriers and Bulldozers: A journey into women’s football in Palestine”. This is the Easton Cowgirl’s 40 minute film of their visit to Palestine last year, which shows their inspiring experience of playing football with a wide variety of women from across the West Bank. The team heard stories and witnessed some of the daily realities of living under Israeli occupation.
The film will start at 4.30pm followed by a Q&A with some of the Cowgirls. You are welcome to come to the whole event, or just the film and discussion. Admission is free but donations are welcome and will go the the Hebron International Relief Network. The event is being facilitated by the Frome Friends of Palestine who will be offering refreshments.
