Frome’s very own Buffalo Gals offer you a guaranteed cure for the 21st century!

With traditional and original bluegrass song, dance, humour and stories from the world of old-time American country music, they bring increased vigour, happiness and longevity to the good people of Frome.

The magic of fiddle and banjo, the uplifting joy of percussive dance and the edifying effects of a good story well told, are the key ingredients in Buffalo Gals’ miraculous, cure-all remedy for the modern world. Led by funny lady and champion fiddler and Frome resident Kate Lissauer, they bring a musical and visual delight.

Buffalo Gals are at the forefront of the current wave of American roots-inspired UK music. Representing a revival of the old string band tradition in its most vibrant form, Buffalo Gals’ intoxicating style is punctuated with the stunning and thrillingly syncopated traditional Appalachian step-dance that has become one of their trademarks.

The band also teaches workshops in step-dance, ‘high-lonesome’ voice style, banjo, guitar and fiddle & provide a contra or “square dance” for your community.
