Zoe Harding is a local Artist that recently studied at Frome Community College, she is furthering her education at another Art institution. Zoe first came to Rook Lane as a student and after such positive feedback and sales of her work she has been working hard alongside studying to create more stunning work.
In her words:
Nature’s uncontrollable power over our surrounding world and how it affects the conditions that an environment presents is a focus that is heavily present throughout my explorations. Through my art I wish to capture how the natural weather impacts the sea, as well as investigating the balance between the light and dark in the creation of an atmosphere. My work demonstrates the effect of the weather and waves, allowing me to capture the movements which are significant in composing the expression underlying a seascape. I wanted to present how the changing effects of light evokes relative emotional responses, through the creation of a series that depicts a single subject under different natural conditions. As no two experiences of a place are ever the same, this intrigued me to explore how a certain atmosphere appears to be constantly changing due to the unpredictability of the weather which nature is dependent upon.
