Poetry & illustration Summer workshop for kids aged 9-12yrs – ‘Finding Inspiration Through Nature’
Join author Lucy Reynolds and illustrator Jenna Herman for a day of nature-themed workshops in the magical setting of Marston Park!
Jenna and Lucy will take children through a wonderful day of nature walks and creative workshops. Children will learn how to pause, notice, and focus… finding inspiration from the beauty of nature around us. They will learn techniques to help turn these ideas into poetry & illustrations.
Jenna & Lucy aim to give young poets & illustrators a ‘writing & illustration toolkit’ to use when working on their own creations in the future. Each child will go home from the workshop with an illustrated poem of their own, and the chance to exhibit their work at the Marston Park Gallery if they wish!
Your child does not need to feel particularly talented in writing or illustrating to attend this workshop, just enthusiastic about stories, and a love for writing and/or drawing would be a bonus!
This is a full day’s drop-off event for 9-12yr olds, 9:30am-3:30pm
Art & writing materials will be provided* but all children must bring their own packed lunch & snacks for the day (no nuts please).
*If any children would like to bring their own drawing/writing kit they are very welcome to!
