Part of Frome’s Walking Festival 2019.
A walk through the heart of Frome that will fascinate and enthral both children and adults alike. Within this guided walk you will discover the town’s connection with Harry Potter, learn about nearby flying saucer sightings and relive stinky market days and medieval streets.
You’ll also visit the very site of Frome’s birth, see reminders of the town’s dark past and experience its later welcoming of evacuated children. And if this wasn’t enough, you’ll also listen to tales of ghosts, witches, blue-skinned people and the statue affectionately known as ‘Charlie’.
The route will begin at the Cheese & Grain, pass through the market place, go up Cheap Street, then up the steps by the church, a brief visit of the graveyard, then across Bath Street, along Palmer Street and go up Catherine Hill, Sheppard’s Barton and the back way to the War Memorial , where the walk ends.
Led by David Lassman, this walk will last approximately 45-60 mins.
