Frome’s Christmas Light Switch On and Lantern Parade returns! Friday 22nd November, 5pm – 7pm in the town centre.
Lantern artists Mel Day and Aliss Vaas are delighted to bring back the parade for the seventh year running. Let’s make it bigger and brighter than ever!
The theme this year is ‘Winter Woodland’. You can book one of several free workshops making woodland-inspired lanterns, or you can buy a kit with all the materials you need. Lantern kits are available from Frome Town Hall or Discover Frome at the Library if you want to get creative at home.
If you’d like to make something even more special, Aliss and Mel will share their expertise in a one-off Advanced Creative Lantern Workshop for adults on Saturday 12 October. Here you will have the chance to make wonderful decorated toadstools and owls.
Frome Lanterns are also offering a family-friendly session at Frome Library on Saturday 2nd November. There will be more workshops in the lead up to the parade so keep an eye on the Frome Lanterns website for further dates.
Once you have made your lantern you are welcome to join the parade at the Christmas Light Switch On led by the ever-joyful Samba Band. Please note that the parade is restricted to two people per lantern.
Lantern kits are available to buy at Frome Town Hall and Discover Frome at Frome Library. Frome area residents can book onto workshops via www.fromelanterns.co.uk. For more information about the Christmas Light Switch On keep an eye on Frome Town Council’s website. Christmas is coming!
