Part of Frome Walking Festival – 18 walks over 3 days.
This walk goes from Coleford to Edford and back, following the route of “the canal that never was” and passing coal workings that would have benefitted from the canal. Once a hub of industrial activity, it is now delightful countryside to walk through.
The route includes several stiles, some steep sections, and plenty of uneven ground.
Starts (and ends) opposite the Co-op shop in Coleford BA3 5NJ, at the junction between Highbury Street and Church Street. On-street parking, a public car park, and The British Legion Hall Car Park are all nearby.
4.5-mile walk led by Veryan Conn. Not suitable for dogs.
