Leigh on Mendip’s magnificent 15th century church of St Giles is the venue for an imaginative FLOWER FESTIVAL over the August bank holiday weekend. The theme of “Rhymes and Reasons” will portray nursery rhymes in flowers and explore the history behind their innocent sounding words.
In the nearby memorial hall an extensive Historical Display will focus on the history of the buildings of the village and the families who used them. Home made refreshments will be available.
The church will host its tenth summer concert presented by Nicola Loten (flute) and Thomas Breeze (organ) on Saturday 27th August. Tickets for the concert, including canapes at £7.50 from Caroline 01373 812889, bar available.
