REMAKERY: FROME & FROME CODER DOJO PRESENTS – HTML AND CSS

Join Felipe and Augustin of http://fromecoderdojo.org/ for this FREE experimental experience. This is a safe and friendly environment open to everyone who wants to learn. It does not matter where do you come from, if you are a girl or a boy, rich or poor. Just be cool, that’s the only rule. Have fun with us, we want take you on a learning journey to explore some of the cool stuff you can build on the internet. We’ll talk about the Internet’s building blocks and how it all works to then jump into some hands-on coding exercises learning HTML and CSS, the fundamental languages of the web.

This day is structured as 2 x 2 hour workshops. Please choose your preferred slot when booking.

10am – 12 noon. HTML – Hyper Text Markup Language

This is course an introduction to HTML, one of the standards of the web. We’ll be talking about how the whole internet works generically but the focus will be around website structures and navigation. Learn the basic building blocks like forms, fields, navigation bar, images, links and so on. Get hands-on with activities like coding a web page (based on an example we’ll give).

1pm – 3pm. CSS – Cascading Style Sheets

This is course an introduction to CSS, another standard of the web. You will learn the basic building blocks like classes, properties, values and selectors. Get hands-on with activities like styling a web page (based on an example we’ll give) The session is meant to be interactive, show and tell using a projector.

Courses are self contained. Both sessions are designed to be interactive, show and tell using a projector. No experience required other than basic computer skills to be able to open a browser, copy/paste and edit files. Attendees will need to bring their own laptop. All ages welcome. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.
