A popular pastime in the 17th and 18th centuries was going to the local pub with one’s friends, having a drink and singing some songs. In the room over the Three Swans a group of local singers will recreate this atmosphere for an evening of satirical and sometimes bawdy part-songs. These songs or ‘Catches’ were incredibly popular and the Frome Festival Catch Club singers will entertain the audience with 300-year-old examples on politics, music, drinking and smoking, country pursuits and smut. Over 18’s only! Some audience participation will be encouraged.
