We have all been moved by the desperate plight of those refugees fleeing from Afghanistan. It reminds us of the tragedies of so many other people fleeing dangers from their own homeland.
Local not-for-profit artist, Lorna Thomas, has been selling her paintings for humanitarian aid for the last seven years. On this occasion she will not be taking costs, so everything is at rock bottom prices (£10- £50) at a cash and carry exhibition at Frome Town Hall during October.
This is a great opportunity for you to own some original artwork to enhance your home or give as a gift – enhance your homes while helping others who have lost theirs. Gaps on the wall will be filled, so you may even spot a second bargain as the month goes on.
The exhibition will be extended into the café area during the first week with some delightful vintage prints, also competitively priced. Many Frome artists are also supporting this cause by donating greeting cards, on sale for £2 each. We just need you to help us make some money for others.
We are in the process of redeveloping the Discover Frome website, and invite you to share your views on the current site with us.
