Let’s start making things happen. Edventure’s Incubation course is a hands-on course in creating social enterprise, where you learn by doing. Develop and launch this real initiative as a member of a close-knit team, guided every step of the way.
You’ll meet in person and be guided through a creative and hands-on design process where you learn how to turn good ideas into great ones. Then you’ll launch it into the world, supported every step of the way by an Edventure facilitator. It’s fun. It’s all about doing. It puts you in the driving seat going at a pace that suits you.
The idea to launch:
You and your team will work to design, launch and create an alternative D.I.Y shop pop-up, aimed at transforming waste, promoting repairs, and building community connections. The pop-up store will sell new and pre-loved building materials, home accessories, and decoration supplies, at a fraction of the retail price. Materials will be sourced from local D.I.Y stores, tradespeople’s leftovers, and anyone who wants to dispose of those ‘too good to waste’ materials lurking in their garage. The pop-up will also host workshops on upcycling, repair, and basic D.I.Y skills for all.
We will teach you everything you need to know about creating and launching a social enterprise that makes a positive local impact, with a true learning by doing approach.
During the course, you’ll work on key aspects of the alternative D.I.Y shop pop-up, like identifying a location, developing a sustainable business model, salvaging materials from waste, estimating costs, marketing and engaging the community. If you’re interested in learning more about creating value from waste, retail pop-ups, or how the circular economy works locally, this course is for you.
Our courses are a chance to try something new, help others do the same, and get one to one support to take forward your new skills, confidence, experience, community connections or sense of direction into the future.
Previous Edventure course cohorts have launched the Community Fridge (2016), the Share Shop, Loop Frome, Ding Bike Mobile Repair — and more. Now, it’s your turn. No experience needed — just a willingness to try something new.
This course is for you if any ONE of the following apply:
Regardless of your stage in life, background, experience to date or age, we believe there’s a place for everyone on our courses. In fact, the differences across the team is one of the things that make our courses such a rich and meaningful experience for participants.
