Jazz: Azhaar Saffar (vln, vocal) & Graham Dent Trio

3rd Sunday jazz at the Cornerhouse:
The versatile jazz violinist and vocalist Azhaar Saffar makes a welcome appearance at the Cornerhouse, Frome with the Graham Dent trio (Graham on keyboard with Adrian Smith, bass and Greg White, drums). Azhaar made her reputation fronting and co-writing for the popular Brazilian jazz group Sirius B. Their album was voted no 1 on JazzFM in that year. She has performed all over Europe, including international festivals such as Montreux, Brecon and Glastonbury. Since returning from travels in South America Azhaar formed a new band, Global Wave, featuring her original songs inspired by her travels. A new album, Original Love, has been extremely well received and the band is currently gigging all around the country including at this year’s London jazz festival.
