John Law Quartet Plays Thelonius Monk

John Law, piano; Sam Crockatt, saxophones; Riaan Vosloo, bass; Dave Smith, drums. A quartet of four powerful individual voices, the band will be exploring the music and legacy of the pianist and composer who’s been called The Genius of Modern Music. One of the founders of the style Be-Bop, Monk’s quirky compositions continue to fascinate musicians and public alike. With their strong motives and catchy tunes, they also demand to be swung really hard! Come and join in a close-of-Frome-Festival knees up, continuing afterwards over the road at the Cornerhouse, the regular home of Frome Jazz.
