The incredible All Star Rock Supergroup that blew everybody away last year.  We rate them as one of the top bands to have ever played at the Cheese & Grain, and judging by the audience reaction and the adulation the band received at the end of the show, no one could disagree.

Initial confusion reigned as to the personnel of the band due to several reincarnations and reformations of The Grateful Dead since the sad death of their leader Jerry Garcia. However the current line up goes back to the very early incarnations of The Dead with the original keyboard player TOM CONSTANTEN, who played on the early albums.

The Grateful Dead formed in San Francisco in the mid 60’s. Famed for their unique and eclectic style, fusing elements of rock, country, blues and psychedelia into live shows sometimes lasting 3 to 4 hours.

The godfathers of instrumental jams, followed religiously by their devoted legions of fans, famously known as “deadheads”.

Inducted into The Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame, they were included in Rolling Stone’s greatest artists of all time.

On their current seven date UK Tour the band will be performing the seminal albums “Live Dead 69” and “Skull & Roses” in their entirety along with other classic material.

As well as Grateful  Dead original piano player TOM CONSTANTEN, the band features MARK KARAN,  lead guitarist with Bob Weir’s Rat Dog and The Other Ones, plus three members of Jefferson Starship, guitarist SLICK AGUILAR, also with The David Crosby Band, drummer RICHARD NEWMAN who also played with Paul Rodgers and Rory Gallagher and multi instrumentalist TONY MORLEY on bass.

Their shows last year have achieved almost mythical status amongst dedicated Deadheads with their London finale being a complete sell-out .

Famed for awesome improvisation and  a mesmerising stage performance , this show is an absolute must for all rock fans.
