Lunch Bunch is a free, two-hour pop-up dining table where you bring your own lunch and sit with others. Crosswords, jigsaws, card and board games are all available, with prizes for the winners.
Jessica Francombe, who is facilitating the sessions says ‘Late summer is the perfect time to get outdoors, chat to folk in town and do something different. So many of us spend lunch breaks scrolling on our phones or eat at a computer. It’s much healthier to take a proper break, do something fun and connect with others. It’s even a win for bosses as studies show workers are much more focused and productive after a proper break’.
The project isn’t just for people on their lunch break from work. It’s also a great reason to get out of the house on weekdays, especially for people without kids, or whose children have grown up or are in school.
The trial is funded and supported by Frome-based company Terrestrial, who produce and commission arts and community projects across the south-west, and the Family Information Network Directory (FIND), an easy-to-use platform supporting a resilient town at findfrome.co.uk.
