John Wesley visited Frome several times, describing it as a ‘dry, uncomfortable, barren sort of place’. He was chased out of the town on one occasion. So what made his views unacceptable to the people of Frome?
We will take an hour out to look at the faith and inspirational teachings of John Wesley and his brother, Charles, where possible using their own words. John uses prose and Charles verse to communicate their deep faith in God.
We will have the opportunity to sing some of Charles’ almost 6,000 hymns, interspersed with time for meditation and prayer. Led by Lindsay Glazebrook, Lay Reader.
Part of Frome Festival 2022.
