Frome Symphony and conductor Mark Gateshill present a programme of popular works by Mozart and Beethoven.
Following the overture to Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, the orchestra is joined by David Pagett for the sublime Clarinet Concerto, one of Mozart’s last completed works.
The concert ends with one of the most significant symphonic works, Beethoven’s Eroica, which paved the way for the development of the romantic symphony during the 19th century.
In a recent survey of contemporary conductors, the Eroica was named the greatest symphony of all time.
