Natural Dyeing Workshop

Until the 1860s all cloth and yarn was dyed with plant dyes, blue from woad, red from madder and yellow from weld amongst others. However, most plants can give pleasing colours, so come and have a play in this fun workshop with Cathy. She will provide materials for you to dye and talk through the process of how to obtain lovely colours on your samples that you can take home.

Adults only.

No experience required. Please bring an apron, gloves and some small plastic bags to take your dyed fabrics home.

Access: 1st floor lift available. 1st floor toilet.
