Pubs of Frome

Part of Frome’s Walking Festival 2019.

Pubs of Frome will take in the sites of a dozen pubs and inns – both past and present – to give the histories of each and put them in the social context of the times.

Learn about the town’s very own breweries, bankrupt landlords, an historic pub-crawl, rioting and the many various nefarious activities which took place behind some of the walls of these local hostelries.

Based on the best-selling book ‘Historic Inns of Frome’. The walk will last ninety minutes and end with an informal (and optional) gathering at the final pub.

The walk is led by local historian and Frome Times Past columnist David Lassman, who is co-author of ‘Foul Deeds & Suspicious Deaths in and Around Frome’ and several other books on the town.
