When the Book of Common Prayer was imposed on the nation in 1662, Non-conformity flourished in Frome and in the 19th century the Anglican congregation was outnumbered by Non Conformists to a factor of 4 to 1.
This walk explores the religious buildings through the east section of town for the most part and, apart from Portway Methodist Church, is accessible (with one diversion) but steep in places.
