Sewing reusable cloth sanitary pads to go into Rotary Club “Water Aid” boxes for disaster areas around the world, going to families who have lost everything including their house in situations where there are no resources to receive help from.
You don’t need to know how to sew, there is cutting out, putting on poppers, making tea, helping to set up and putting away tables.
We need an overlocker to be donated (or someone to come along with their overlocker) to serge around the edges of terry towelling rectangles about the size of a facecloth. Templates are provided for cutting out, all you need to bring is your machine, scissors, pins, seam ripper and a big smile.
We always have a lot of laughs and some friendly competitive speed competition!
Donations of flannel sheets, reversible duvet covers in bright colours and old towels are always useful. And donations towards the cost of poppers and thread are always appreciated.
