An event every week that begins at 12:45pm on Saturday, repeating until 16th Nov 2019
Join us in Frome for a six week meditation course. The course will run on Saturdays at 12.45-1.45pm from 12th October until 16th November 2019. The course will be held at Rise Frome, Whittox Lane, Frome, BA11 3BY in the upstairs studio.
Kat will introduce you to meditation and its various forms. We will be looking at what meditation is, why we practice it and how we can practice it. The aim of the six weeks is to offer a place where you can explore meditations that work for you. Meditation is the same as yoga – not every type fits everyone. Over the six weeks, we will be looking at different meditation styles, techniques and we’ll explore the nature of the human mind.
Meditation can help to:
reduce stress
reduce anxiety
enhance self awareness
lengthen attention span
improve concentration
Many people believe meditation to be complete absence of thought but this is an unrealistic feat for us as humans. Join us to find out why this is not the idea behind meditation.
This course can only be booked as a block, no drop-ins allowed. This is so you are able to create a regular time in your life to learn how to meditate. Each week will progress from the previous week so it is essential you attend all six weeks. Please only book if you can make all the dates.
About Kat
Kat started her meditation practice with mantra meditation, known as Japa. Japa is where you repeat a mantra over and over to still the mind. It can take various forms; being repeated mentally, writing the mantra out or speaking the mantra out loud. However, over the years she has been practising yoga and meditation, Kat has explored many other forms of meditation, including breathing meditation, visualisations and mindfulness, giving her the skills and experience required to teach our six week course. She currently practises mindfulness meditation every single day. She also teaches mindfulness classes at Combe Grove Hotel in Bath.
