Would you like to stitch a heart or shape by up-cycling scrap material to create a portable bit of love? No stitching experience is needed – we’ll guide you through and provide all the tools you’ll need. But for those with sewing kits, you’re welcome to bring them along and get stitching! At the same time, using the natural environment, we’ll string up hammocks, ropes, and swings to have fun off the ground and in amongst the trees. We will also be celebrating the re-opening of the Victoria Park Community Café on the same day, with edible treats for all!
This event is for children, young people and adults. Parents and carers are welcome to play too! It is being organized and run by Ellen Vellacott of Super Roots, a not-for-profit working to create more free or affordable opportunities for children & young people of all backgrounds to enjoy wild spaces, use tools, build swings, cook on a fire & fuel imaginations in all weathers. We love to bring Adventure Play & Forest School together to empower young people, build resilience, community, climate action and wellbeing.
Free session – there’s no need to book.
Victoria Park Café are also hoping to celebrate their re-opening alongside this event!
Bring a blanket or picnic to play longer in the park.
