Lead singer Andy Reilly was the entertainment manager at Pilton Working Men’s Club from 2003. He began booking tribute bands, which included T.Rextasy, The ELO Experience, and OAS-IS amongst others. Andy spoke to a couple of friends with the idea of doing a one-off gig as a Tribute to Slade Christmas 2008. The gig was so successful that it led to further bookings and so SLADEST continue to this day.
Sladest have played Glastonbury Festival on three occasions and even have had the pleasure of the legendary festival’s organiser Michael Eavis take on the lead vocals for a cover of ‘’Can’t take my eyes off you’’, which the band learned specifically for him to sing.
Sladest headlined their first Slade Convention on The Friday night in 2021, the following year supporting Slady (All female tribute to Slade) and going down a storm in the early evening leading to Sladest now headlining The Slade Convention 2023.
Nick and Andy will also be performing a few acoustic songs in front of Don Powell at The Crooked Billet, Henley, a talk
show event also featuring John Coughlan of Status Quo and interviewee Mike Read former Radio 1 DJ.
Sladest celebrate 15 years this year and continue to go from strength to strength with some of their most prestigious
bookings, producing the energy and vibe of a Slade gig back in the day.
